Birds

I’m not interested in drawing neat, static feathers. I’m drawn to the sudden, twitchy energy of birds—that split-second moment right before they take off or land. There is a great contrast between their actual shapes and the aggressive, scratchy marks needed to capture their movement. These pieces use heavy ink and raw charcoal layers to focus entirely on that gritty, unpredictable texture.
