The Story Behind the Print

A slightly daft cat with a lightning Zapped tail - maybe he stuck it into a plug socket - who knows!! This stylised cat linocut is all about bold shapes, quirky character and a little bit of madness. I wanted to create something playful that doesn't take itself too seriously and I think Brian embodies that perfectly!

Cats have a funny way of doing whatever they want, whenever they want, and this little character has plenty of that energy. It's a playful piece for anyone who loves cats, offbeat design and artwork with a bit of personality.

Behind the Print

This print was created using the traditional linocut process, with the design carved by hand into a lino block before being inked and printed onto paper.

I love the bold, graphic quality of linocut, where every carved line and shape helps bring a design to life. The result is a characterful print with a handmade feel, embracing the natural marks and little quirks that make printmaking so satisfying.
