The Story Behind the Piece

There’s something special about the way a cat settles into the arms of someone it trusts. That feeling of comfort, warmth and quiet companionship is what inspired Cat Cuddles.

This close-up charcoal drawing captures one of those little moments where nothing else really matters. Just a cat tucked into its owner's arms, feeling safe and content. It's a simple scene, but one that will feel familiar to anyone who's ever had a cat curl up against them and decided they couldn't possibly move until it was ready.

For me, it's these small, everyday moments that make the bond we have with our pets so special.

Behind the Drawing

Cat Cuddles is a one-of-a-kind original charcoal drawing, created by hand using layers of charcoal to build depth, contrast and texture.

Working in black and white brings the focus onto the details — the softness of the cat's fur, the curves of its face and the closeness between the cat and its owner. The darker charcoal areas sit alongside softer tones and carefully lifted highlights, giving the drawing its sense of depth and bringing the subject to life.

The original retains the natural marks and textures of the charcoal on paper, making it a unique piece with its own character.

Packaging & Care

Original charcoal drawings need a little extra care. Your artwork will be protected with glassine paper, backed with rigid board and shipped flat in a reinforced cardboard mailer to help it arrive safely.

I recommend framing the drawing behind glass to protect the delicate charcoal surface and preserve it for years to come. Adding a mount will also help keep the artwork separated from the glass.
